Vorrei sapere come attivare lo schermo esterno sul mio notebook:

a me è bastato lanciare un:
sudo xrandr --auto

dopo aver collegato il secondo monitor... Il resto è sempre andato tutto da solo!
Anche io su una ATI, ma non lo stesso modello!
