problema apache

Sto cercando di installare php su mac 10.5.7, visualizzo il messaggio di benvenuto di apache in localhost e tutte le html, ma solo lo script php.
Cercando la cartella apache nell'hd del mac non la trovo...
perchè?

ho seguito le istruzioni messe in rete: http://server.html.it/articoli/leggi...s-x-leopard/1/

pero' alla fine le pagine in php nn riesco a visualizzarle.
il comando:
mate http.conf mi apre il file in bianco;

Portiamoci alla linea 163 e modifichiamo il percorso indicato da
DocumentRoot "/Library/WebServer/Documents"
Aprendo manualmente il documento le linee non si trovano alla riga 163 bensi 167 ecc...






questi sono tutti i passaggi che ho effettuato:
