HTTP Error 500

Salve a tutti,
mi sapreste dire come risolvere il problema sotto indicato:
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.
la cosa buffa è che dopo l'installazione è andato tutto bene, improvvisamente, da un certo momento, non ne ha voluto più sapere e ad ogni openCMS che provo a caricare mi restituisce sempre quello!!
L'errore completo è questo:
Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://localhost/Joom/installation/index.php. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
si capisce (da sopra) che lavoro in locale!

guardando nella cartella dgli errori, nel file relativo all'errore indicato dice:

Il server ha generato un errore interno e non è
in grado di soddisfare la richiesta. Il server potrebbe
essere sovraccarico oppure si è verificato un
errore in uno script CGI.
