Compilare librerie ???

Ciao , ho un problema con la compilazione di librerie scritte in C .

Il problema è che non ne capisco assolutamente nulla, ma mi servono assolutamente .

le librerie sono x php , esattamente sono tre , ma cominciamo dalla prima : libpng

questa ha un terribile file di help che cita questa cosa :

quale di questi file devo compilare ? come faccio a compilare ? Dopo cosa otterrò ?

Ho scaricato Borland C++ Compiler 5.5 ..

ora, da linea di comando ho provato a fare come da istruzioni :

make -f c:\php\libpng-1.2.2\makefile.bc32

ma mi dice :

Fatal: 'png.c' does not exist - don't how to make it
